Evelyn Guerrero
Evelyn Guerrero made a memorable contribution to Star Trek through her role as the Bajoran character Lt. Marta Batan in the pilot episode Encounter at Farpoint, the first glimpse into the vast universe of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Working alongside Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the Enterprise-D crew, she helped set the tone for the complex political and cultural landscape fans would explore throughout the series. Though her screen time was brief, her presence added depth to the early introduction of Bajoran culture, which would become prominent in later series such as Deep Space Nine. Outside of Star Trek, Guerrero appeared in various film and television projects, but it is her part in this foundational episode directed by Corey Allen that Star Trek fans will recall when browsing the rich tapestry of the franchise’s early adventures.
