Mark Rosenthal

Mark Rosenthal made his mark on Star Trek as a screenwriter, notably contributing to Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, a film that brought the crew of the USS Enterprise-A face to face with political intrigue and the challenge of peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. Working alongside director Nicholas Meyer, Rosenthal helped craft a story that deepened the characters of Captain Kirk and Spock, while exploring themes of diplomacy and prejudice in a post-Cold War allegory. His writing in this film is remembered for balancing sharp dialogue with moments of tension and humor, solidifying the movie as a fan favorite in the Star Trek film series. Outside Star Trek, Rosenthal has also written screenplays for other major Hollywood films, but it is his storytelling in The Undiscovered Country that remains a key part of his legacy with the franchise.
