Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

The Borg, a fearsome collective of cybernetic beings, set their sights on Earth with the goal of assimilation. When the USS Enterprise E, commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, learns of this threat, Picard disobeys direct orders to remain uninvolved and leads his crew in pursuit of the Borg. Their mission takes them through time as they chase the invaders to a crucial moment in Earth’s past, where the fate of the Federation hangs in the balance.

Arriving in the 21st century, Picard and his crew find themselves in the middle of an era pivotal to the Federation’s formation. They race against the Borg to stop their plan to alter history by preventing first contact between humans and Vulcans, a key event that will influence the future of interstellar relations. Along the way, the crew must confront both the relentless Borg and the challenges posed by their mission in unfamiliar territory and time.
