Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise discover a secluded planet whose inhabitants live in harmony, protected by the planet’s unique regenerative properties that sustain their vitality and the surrounding ecosystem. This rare world becomes the focus of a secret plan involving a faction within Starfleet and an alien species known as the Son’a, who seek to relocate the inhabitants in order to harvest the planet’s resources for their own benefit.

As Picard confronts this conspiracy, he faces difficult choices between upholding Starfleet’s principles and protecting the Ba’ku people from forced removal. With the Enterprise crew including officers like Data, Worf, and Deanna Troi, the mission shifts from exploration to defense. The situation tests their loyalty and ethics while they work to prevent the exploitation of both the planet and its native population.
