When Geordi La Forge receives news that his mother has gone missing during an away mission, he uses experimental technology to link with an advanced probe in an effort to locate her. Despite Captain Picard’s direct orders to stand down, Geordi enlists the help of Commander Riker and the Enterprise crew to navigate the dangerous mission, testing both his determination and the capabilities of new interface systems.
