After the Kazon seize Voyager, most of the crew are stranded on a primitive planet in its early evolutionary stage. Only Tom Paris and the violent crewman Lon Suder avoid capture, forcing them to join forces with the Emergency Medical Hologram in a daring effort to reclaim the starship from the hostile alien faction.
