When Kes falls unconscious after encountering mysterious energy on an alien planet, Captain Janeway must participate in a challenging ritual to save her. Guided by local spiritual leaders, Janeway faces a series of tests that challenge her beliefs and resilience, all while Voyager’s crew waits anxiously. The mission takes place away from the ship, deep within the planet’s sacred territory, where advancing through ancient customs is the only way to help Kes recover.
